Monitoring, Maintenance and More

March 18

Montebello Mitigation Bank recently received approvals for Y1 and Y2 monitoring efforts from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Riparian buffer restoration continues across the site, with treatment of non-native invasive plant species and native transplants. This work and the many, many pages of monitoring documentation confirm the-establishment of stream buffers on the project to what are increasingly healthy conditions. In-stream work and enhancement to site wetlands are currently underway in the closing sequences of restoration for this watershed effort.
